Obituary of Ralph H. Shank

Warner Robins, GA: Ralph H. Shank, 81, went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2006, after a brief illness. He was born on May 16, 1925, in Hershey, PA to the late John and Ella Young Shank. In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth and Ray Shank, and sons Stephen and Timothy Shank. Mr. Shank was a W.W. II veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre from 1943 until 1945. He retired from civil service in 1984 after 30 years of service at Robins AFB. After retirement, he enjoyed being a handy-man, and until recently was employed by Harbor Town in Warner Robins. Ralph was a caring husband, an adored father, and a beloved Papa to his grandchildren. Mr. Shank is survived by his wife of 56 years, Louise Hess Shank of Warner Robins, daughter Susan Van Taylor of Calhoun, GA, Cindy Jim Elkins of Warner Robins, son Jonathan Leslie Shank of Warner Robins, five grandchildren, Maggie, Jennifer and Hope Taylor, Christopher and Becky Elkins, Matt and Erik Fiebig, one brother and three sisters. Services for Mr. Shank will be at 7:00 PM Thursday evening in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with visitation to follow the service. Burial will be in Hershey, PA on Monday. Contributions may be made to the Shirley Hills Baptist Church Building Fund at 615 Corder Road, Warner Robins, GA, 31088, in memory of Mr. Shank. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
