Obituary of Thomas "Tommy" Kell Tarpley, Sr.

Thomas "Tommy" Kell Tarpley Sr., 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 21, 2022. A graveside service will be held at Parkway Memorial Gardens with Reverend Tim Sizemore officiating on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Martraud "Trudy" F. Blochwitz Tarpley. A visitation will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Saturday, September 24, 2022 between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. 

Tommy was born on December 6, 1944 to the late Joyce and Robert Burdick in Macon, GA. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lewis Burdick.
Tommy retired from the United States Army after 22 years, where he devoted his life to serve his country. He was an honorable man who always put others before himself. After the military, Tommy continued to work in the Finance Business with Award Finance Corporation
 and Mercury Finance. When he was not working, Tommy enjoyed fishing and riding his Spyder but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his dear family and aggravating his grandchildren. Tommy was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and beloved friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Tommy is survived by his loving children, Christina Cobb, Frances (Ken) Cook, Thomas (Trina) Kell Tarpley, Jr.,  Herbert Tarpley, and Joyce Quinn; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of extended friends and family.
