Obituary of Forrest L. Meredith
Mr. Forrest L. Meredith, 98, went to be with his Lord and Savior, May 17, 2023 surrounded by his beloved family. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Craig Hartzog officiating. A visitation for the friends and family will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Mr. Forrest L. Meredith will be laid to rest at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 2:30 PM. for family only. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in loving memory of Mr. Meredith to: Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, 600 SW 11th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79101.
Forrest was born on February 4, 1925 to the late Hoy and Gladys Meredith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Nettrour; two step children: Victoria Shahal and Stephen Janusewski and sister, Alice Browne.
Forrest was an honorable man who dedicated his life to serving his family, country, and the Lord. He was a member at Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA where he enjoyed sharing scriptures with friends and family. Forrest enlisted into the United States Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific Ocean for several months. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Forrest is survived by his cherished wife, L. Marie Meredith; children: Dennis, Terry, David, James, Frank, Gary, and Wymond; step children: Ruth Worrell and Andrew Janusewski; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and a host of extended friends and family.
