Thomas Moore

Obituary of Thomas Blake Moore

Thomas “Blake” Moore passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at age 22. Blake was born in Perry, Georgia, on May 16, 2001, to Jason and Katherine Moore.

After graduating from Perry High School in 2019, Blake proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Blake’s time in service deeply ingrained in him the values of discipline, honor, and respect – qualities that radiated to anyone who crossed his path.

After his service, Blake became a certified personal trainer and dedicated his expertise to Destiny Fitness in Perry. There, he combined his passion for fitness and desire to help others achieve their goals. Blake’s passion for fitness was reinforced by his national recognition in the arm-wrestling community. His impressive record of tournament wins led to him being ranked among the top competitors in Georgia.

When Blake wasn’t at the gym, he immersed himself in his other passions: hunting, fishing, or indulging in his love for music. His strong connection to the outdoors was not only a result of his upbringing but was also influenced by his involvement in the Future Farmers of America (FFA). In addition, Blake’s affection for music dates back to his childhood, and he enjoyed a wide variety of genres. Over time, Blake’s passion for music led to equipping his car with an impressive sound system that he was very proud of.

Above all, Blake’s faith was an evident pillar in his life. His upbringing at Cross Point Perry laid the foundation for his faith and guided him throughout his life. After his return from service, Blake was active with the young adult group at The Assembly of Warner Robins.

Left to cherish the memories made with him are his parents, Jason and Katherine Moore; his brother, Ben Moore; his paternal grandparents, James and Nellwin Moore; his maternal grandparents, Ed and Katie Blount; his girlfriend, Whitney Yarbrough; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at 4 p.m. at Cross Point Perry. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will immediately follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
