Obituary of John P. Hume, II

John Patrick Hume, II, 62, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 13, 2023.  A funeral service will be held, Monday, September 18, 2023 at 11 AM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.  A visitation will take place one hour prior between the hours of 10 AM and 11 AM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Parkway Memorial Gardens.  Pastor Phil Bryant will be officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Coach Frank Wiles, Carol Biddy, Don Allen, Jarvis Key, Gary Howard, and Dave Smith. In memory of John, his family asks that you wear your finest Georgia Bulldog attire to the funeral.

John was born in Charleston, SC to the late John P. Hume and Margaret Anne Hermanns Hume.  John's love for airplanes was fostered by his father's United States Air Force career.  He pursued a career as a talented aircraft mechanic, working with various contractors and completed his career at Lockheed Martin.  John was the epitome of what a friend is to be.  He developed lifelong friendships and was a diehard Georgia Bulldogs fan.  

He is survived by Amy, daughters: Jessica (Christopher), Kristin (Matthew), Savannah, and Ashton; brother, Mark; sister, Susan; loyal fur baby, Sweet Pea; and a host of extended family and friends.
