Obituary of Ada L. Mullis

Ada L. Mullis met her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 29, 2023. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 1, 2023 between the hours of 4 PM and 6 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.  A private family graveside service will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 at Roberta City Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Martin Mullis, Sr. The Reverend Troy Collett will be officiating.

Ada was born July 31, 1939 to the late Thomas Sorrow and Lelia Raney Sorrow in Greensboro, Georgia.  She was the youngest of 8 children in her family.  Ada served her community as a Certified Nurse's Aide in the Emergency Room of Houston Healthcare for 40 years.  Her spunky personality was displayed by her pranks and jokes that were often at the expense of her co-workers.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and working in her yard.  Ada was faithful member at Shady Grove Baptist Church, attending services when able.  She was a devoted mother of 2 children, having her daughter on her 21st birthday.  Ada will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children: Linda (Dale) Barlow, Martin (Jackie) Mullis, Jr.; grandchildren: Catherine (Joshua) Bridges, Stephanie (Kevin) Stephens, Joshua (Melinda) Barlow, David (Ashton) Barlow, Stephanie Hawes; great grandchildren: Grace Bridges, Bryce Bridges, Logan Bridges, Abigail Barlow, Kyler Hawes, and Collins Hawes; 3 siblings and a host of extended family and friends.
