Obituary of Mr. George R. Campbell

Mr. George R. Campbell, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior, October 18, 2023. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

 

George was born in Martinsville, VA on April 14, 1941 to the late Mr. Elbridge and Mrs. Louise Hayes Campbell.  George devoted his life to serving his community and country. He enlisted into the United States Airforce and worked 20 years of service. He continued to serve as a civil servant until retirement through Robins Airforce base. George enjoyed watching and cheering on several sport teams which included: Dallas Cowboys Football, Duke Blue Devils basketball, and most recently, the Georgia Bulldogs football. In addition to sports, George cherished his time outdoors, which included: playing softball with Robins Airforce Base, woodworking, and yard work. He also enjoyed puzzles, card games, and most importantly, spending time with his beloved family and friends.  George was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 

George is survived by his beloved children:  Regina (Michael) Jacobs and Renae Campbell; grandchildren: Kayla Jacobs, Christopher Jacobs, and Sidney (Kellie) Lang; great grandchild, Bailor Lang; life partner, Nancy Campbell; brother, Sherman Campbell, and a host of extended friends and family.
