Warner Robins, Georgia - Ruth F. Walcott, 100, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 26, 2023. A visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside service honoring the life of Ruth will be held at Magnolia Park Cemetery beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor Paul Cowles officiating.
Ruth was born on September 18, 1923 in Burgin, Kentucky to the late Matilda Holly and Robert Harrison Brown. Ruth was a woman who possessed determination as she grew up during the Great Depression. She faced hard times but never wavered from her faith nor her love for family. She served her country in the United States Air Force, and following her military service, she became a military spouse. She married Charles Oliver Walcott, Sr. in 1952, and together they were stationed in Colorado, Nevada, Texas, and Georgia. She retired as a civilian from Robins Air Force Base.
After retiring, she enjoyed cooking meals for her family, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth loved the Lord her God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength. She was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church for a number of years.
In addition to her husband and parents, there waiting for her at the gates of heaven were her beloved siblings: John Brown, Amanda Warren, Geneva Huffman, and Clifton Brown.
Left to cherish the beautiful memory that Ruth leaves behind are her loving children, Charles "Chuck" O. Walcott, Jr. (Donna), Bobby Walcott (Charo); Grandchildren, Becky Taylor, Parker Walcott, and Megan Salter (Eric); Great-grandchildren, Kyra Taylor, Brycen Sursely, and Kolton Walcott.
