Obituary of Juanita Cheatham

Juanita passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. A Funeral Service honoring the life of Needie will immediately follow the visitation in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.

Juanita “Needie” Elaine Cheatham was the eighth child born on March 15, 1949 to Van and Jessie Cheatham in Barberton, Ohio. She gave her life to Christ as a young adult. Juanita was educated through the Barberton Public School System and went on to study at various colleges throughout the state of Ohio. She thoroughly enjoyed learning and teaching others what she knew from a young age. She worked as a substitute teacher and eventually became a paraprofessional for the Houston County Board of Education in Warner Robins, Georgia. After years of dedication and countless students, she retired in 2006.

Juanita had a passion for her yard, arts and crafts. On any given day you could find her tending to her flower gardens or drawing and making cards for the people she loved. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends watching television or just talking about various current events. She had one child, Natasha Tina-Michelle Cheatham who was born on August 29^th, 1983. She shared many memories with her daughter such as pageant events, parades, trips to amusement parks, teaching her how to play the keyboard, cooking and gardening tips, and various other teaching opportunities.

There awaiting for her at the gates of heaven are her beloved parents,  Van & Jessie Cheatham, and siblings, Johnny, Margaret, Sharon Cheatham, and Jean Nelson.

Left to cherish the beautiful memory Juanita leaves behind are her daughter, Natasha “Tina” Cheatham (Jake); siblings Janice (Earl) Holcomb, Betty Cross, Sandra Sherman, Van (Gwendolyn) Cheatham Jr., Mae (Michael) Jackson, Jeremiah Cheatham, David (Leila) Cheatham, and Vance (Tina) Cheatham. Juanita is also survived by a host of extended family members including her nieces and nephews, along with her countless friends.
