Obituary of Mr. John Michael Butler

Mr. John Michael Butler, 42, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 9, 2023. A celebration honoring the life of Mr. Butler will be held in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, December 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM. The visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. John was born in Griffin, GA to John Donald Butler and Norma Manning Pruitt on July 13, 1981. John was a Northside High School graduate and went on to obtain his Bachelor's degree at Georgia College and State University.  At a young age, John was adopted by his beloved late father, Rockey Sullivan. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers: Gene Sullivan and Gerald Butler and his paternal grandmother Helen Wade; his maternal grandparents: Norman Tilman Manning Sr., and Elizabeth Stewart Manning.

John was a loving, gentle giant who took great pride in everything he did. John was the epitome of proper masculinity.  His kind and gentle nature was so apparent in his treatment of animals and people.  He could be described as a jack of all trades, working on any and all classic cars and trucks, to also becoming the General Manager at Click It Automotive Group. While John was not working, he could be found spending time with his cherished fur babies: Maggie and Waylon, but most importantly, John enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and dear mother. John was a loving son, brother, grandson, "cuzzzz" and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his beloved mother, Norma (Tommy) Pruitt; father, John Donald (Hope) Butler; adopted paternal bonus mom, Teresa (Kevin) Roberts; siblings: Jonathon Pruitt, Trevor (Haley) Pruitt, Amanda (Chris) Baggett, Sandy (Robbie) Alcorn, Brandy Cook, and Tyler Cook; paternal grandmothers, Sharon Sullivan and Patricia (Ron) Broman; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, including Kailyn Pruitt; cousins: Eric Collins, Zach Collins, Matt Collins, Jesse Manning, Brittany Ogle, Gabriel Ogle, Katie Herndon, Ryan Wolfe, and Ethan Wolfe; and a host of extended friends and family.
