Bill was a kind human and passionate educator. His students and society at large were the beneficiaries of his grace and wisdom. I was lucky to have worked alongside him. The world will miss him. May he sleep in peace.

Great teacher! Enjoyed my math classes at ND so much more because of him.
My condolences to all of those close to him.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bill's passing and will pray for comfort and peace for the family. I interacted with Bill frequently during his years as an adjunct at Southern, and he cared about his students and was passionate about teaching them mathematics.
Sincerely, Terri Bennett

Thank you. He did truly care about his students. My dad frequently expressed to me how much he cared for the students. And, towards the end, he talked to me frequently of math problems, even when his memory was not the greatest, his math never failed him.

I remember Billy taking Timmy, Danny & I to Yankee & Shea Stadiums to watch the Yankees & Mets games. Timmy & Danny were die hard Yankees fans but Billy & I loved the Mets. All the twilight double-headers. I remember going to all the Captain Kegs games on Sundays later on & cheering him on. Aside from chocolate covered cherries, he loved the chicken from Gaetano’s and moms potato salad (with lots of eggs in it, of course)
